Life's a Journey

It is important to note that I have always wanted to learn and to teach.
It brings me great joy to watch as a child discovers, learns, and begins to believe in their abilities.

We are nearing the end of yet another school year and the successes outweigh the failures. Still, I focus upon the failures the most because that is where I learn how to help the next group. That doesn't mean I do not relish the success stories or that I miss the opportunity to learn from the positive.
I enjoy sharing something new that I have learned and seeing others get just as excited. I believe that creating curiosity and the atmosphere for students to get excited about learning is the way to reach the hard to teach. I'm talking about the student that is simply compliant, but not fully engaged. The student that doesn't feel as though they have a say in their learning is a passive participant and will not learn to love learning. As a teacher my job is to ignite that passion, to awaken curiosity, and to create a life long learner! Life is a journey and we all need to be curiosity about what it will bring.
